Most of the time, missing exhibit or proceeding controls come down to the role a person is signed in with. Guests have limited access, so they cannot upload exhibits or see the full set of proceeding controls. Here are the two most common situations and how to resolve them.
An attorney cannot upload exhibits
If an attorney reports that they cannot upload exhibits, they are most likely signed in with the wrong role, usually as a guest rather than a Taking or Opposing Representative.
As the court reporter, you can update their role during the proceeding. Follow the steps in the Updating Roles During a Proceeding section of How do I set participant-level access controls?
Once their role is updated, the attorney will see the exhibit and upload controls right away.
You cannot see participants, the Testimony tab, or the exhibit button
If you cannot see the participants, the Testimony tab, or the exhibit button, or you only see a message such as "Waiting for an exhibit to be introduced," you are signed in as a guest.
To fix this:
Click Exit at the bottom left of your agency's app.
Sign in again using your email address.
After you sign back in, your proceeding controls will be available.
